FAQ Smart FAshion
Pills appeared on my dress / hoodie, can I use a peeler?
Yes, it’s absolutely OK to use a peeler :)
Pilling can also be treated by ironing that makes the fabric smoother. We don’t recommend ironing Smart Hoodie 02 from Tecnostretch, nor the softshell Smart Jacket.

Do you recommend using gall soap to remove stains?
In terms of eliminating dirt and stains, gall soap is very effective and can be used with our products. However, it is very important to follow the instructions, avoid applying it on the material for longer than 15 minutes and to wash the soap out of the product thoroughly.
After using gall soap we recommend an acid rinse – e.g. 10% citric acid solution or a laundry rinse. Be careful to put the rinse in the fabric softener compartment and not in the laundry gel compartment.
In terms of eco and animal friendly approach, we recommend alternatives like coconut oil soaps or olive soaps with lemon extract.

Smart Hoodie, Smart Jacket – should I measure myself with my baby in a carrier?
The measurements stated in the Smart Hoodie and Smart Jacket size charts stand for fastened products without a child. Thus always measure yourself only – our hoodie is cut oversize and is also very flexible. The softshell jacket is more solid and it’s always good to consider what you will wear underneath it.
Smart Hoodie
How warm are your hoodies?
This mostly depends on how much you are bothered by cold :) which is very individual of course, but generally we can say that for people less resilient to cold temperatures we recommend:
Smart Hoodie 01 with Tecnowool® - usable throughout spring and autumn and warmer winter days. During cold winter and / or rainy, windy weather, it is good to cover it with another layer, preferably wind and water proof.
Smart Hoodie 02 with Tecnostretch® - usable throughout colder summer days (or nights) and warmer spring and autumn days.
For those who are not bothered by cold that much, we recommend:
Smart Hoodie 01 with Tecnowool® - usable throughout the whole winter (with respect to the fact that it’s not waterproof)
Smart Hoodie 02 with Tecnostretch® - usable throughout spring and autumn and warmer winter days. During cold winter and / or rainy, windy weather, it is good to cover it with another layer, seeing that the hoodies themselves are not impermeable :)

I am stuck between two Smart Hoodie sizes. What now?
It’s mostly about your personal comfort feeling – if you prefer clothes to be tight, choose the smaller size. If you feel better in oversize clothes, choose the bigger one. Our hoodies are very stretchy and flexible, so it’s all about your preferences.

If the hoodie doesn’t fit you, you can always return the unused goods within 14 days.

Why there is no hanging loop on your hoodie?
Our hoodies are very popular also due to the stretchy material they are made of – they are very flexible, but also weight something. If the whole weight of the hoodie would hang on such small piece of fabric, the fabric might get damaged. Thus we recommend to hang the hoodie using a hanger :)
I washed the hoodie according to instructions, but it came from the washing machine soaking wet. What now?
If you washed the hoodie separately, its weight might not had been evenly distributed in the drum, thus leading to improper spin. In such case, add some towels of the hoodie colour (or some similar fabric) and put the spin cycle on again – your washing machine should fill in water again and spin properly.
I have washed the merino Smart Hoodie 01 in improper laundry detergent / fabric softener – what now?
Wash the hoodie several times in wool wash detergent, adding a bit of vinegar in the fabric softener compartment. Repeat this until the hoodie is free of the unwanted substances.
How to remove dye stains from the merino Smart Hoodie 01?
We recommend to leave the hoodie in a concentrated solution of water and silk and wool washing liquid for a while, then wash with colour capture sheets (if needed, repeat several times).
How to remove fat stains (e.g. blood, breast milk…) from the merino Smart Hoodie 01?
First and foremost, when removing fat, greasy stains it is important to rinse them in cold water, seeing that hot water will cause the stains to “cook” into the fabric. Then take a small bowl and prepare a concentrated solution of water and silk and wool washing liquid, rub the fabric gently with it, wash and rinse. As wool is an animal fibre, you can also apply low-concentrated and short –time acid rinse.
Another way is to put small amount of the wool and silk washing liquid on the dry stain and wait around 15 minutes. Then wash the hoodie according to instructions without adding any more washing liquid.

Can the smart dress be dried in tumble dryer?
With several fabrics the producer claims they can be dried in a tumble dryer, however, our experience showed that the fabric tends to colour-fade over time when tumble dried. Thus we recommend to hang the dress to dry, so they’ll keep their beautiful colour for a long time :)
I washed the dress in wrong detergent – what now?
No big deal, just wash it several times in the preferred washing detergent.
